The Griff Griffitts for State Representative campaign announced the endorsement of Chuck Perdue, who was elected to serve as the Bay County Tax Collector in 2016. Chuck worked as a tax consultant for 25 years, representing companies in front of the Internal Revenue Service, and he founded a successful local CPA firm.
“Griff Griffitts is a strong conservative and the right candidate at the right time for this seat,” said Tax Collector Chuck Perdue. “Griff has a wealth of experience as a small businessman with a record of service to our community. As a County Commissioner Griff has kept our taxes low, and he knows our issues inside and out. He’s been a leader in rebuilding our community and our local economy since Hurricane Michael and throughout the pandemic, and I’m confident he will handle any challenges we may face ahead.”
Chuck Perdue graduated from Bay High School, Gulf Coast Community College, Florida State University, and Troy University, where he completed his Master’s Degree in Taxation. He and his wife, Charla, have been married for nearly 30 years and have two adult sons. They are frequently involved in local and international mission projects.
“I’m honored to have earned the endorsement of Chuck Perdue,” said Commissioner Griff Griffitts. “Chuck is a loyal servant-leader for the people of Bay County. What he has accomplished as tax collector in such a short time period has been nothing short of miraculous. I am proud to have him on the Bay County ‘team,’ and more proud to call him a friend.” Griffitts continued, “Bay County is blessed to have so many strong local leaders who are working together for our future.”
Griff Griffitts, the current County Commissioner for District 5, has previously served as Commissioner on the Panama City Beach Civil Service Board, the Bay County Planning Commission, and the Bay County Tourist Development Council. Griff is also a member of the Florida State-Panama City Foundation Development Board and has served as the Chairman of the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce, as well as on the board of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce.
