Panama City Beach, Fla. – Today, the Griff Griffitts campaign announced the endorsement of Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford, who has been with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office since 2009. Before his appointment to Sheriff by Gov. Rick Scott, he held the position of Operations Commander and Chief Deputy. Sheriff Ford was then elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020 to continue serving as Bay County’s Sheriff. Prior to his time at the Sheriff’s Office, he served within the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for 18 years.
“I have stood with Griff Griffitts during and after a category 5 hurricane, a pandemic, and most recently, major fires,” said Sheriff Tommy Ford. “Griff has always made sure that law enforcement has the tools we need to keep our communities safe and has made sure our first responders are never looked over during budget discussions. He is a man of his word, a trusted, proven leader, and in my opinion, Griff is ready to continue working for Bay County on day one. This is why I endorse Griff Griffitts to be our next State Representative.”
“I am proud to have the endorsement of Sheriff Ford,” said Griff Griffitts. “Keeping our communities safe has always been one of my top priorities. As your next State Representative, I will continue to stand with Governor DeSantis to stop Joe Biden from shipping illegal immigrants to Florida, and to keep our local streets free from the lawlessness that we have seen in liberal led cities across the country. Let’s keep Florida safe, together!”
Griff Griffitts, the current County Commissioner for District 5, has previously served as Commissioner on the Panama City Beach Civil Service Board, the Bay County Planning Commission, and the Bay County Tourist Development Council. Griff is also a member of the Florida State-Panama City Foundation Development Board and has served as the Chairman of the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce, as well as on the board of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce.
